Subtle Gestures

Context. Gesture. Facial expression. When we see a person across the room we use these cues to construct a story about them, their history, motivations, attitudes and the events that led them to this place. A subtle change in expression, the slight movement of a hand, the tilt of the head or a downturn at the corner of the mouth and our narrative changes, grows. We can create a world for this person to inhabit. Perhaps a manifestation of our own desires or fears. A life of warmth, love, achievement and joy. Or possibly, impending danger, intrigue, solitude, loneliness, loss. A life of drama.

My figures are meant to encourage this speculation. They are the beginning of a story.
